Philly Cheesesteak

  1. In a small bowl, stir together butter and garlic. Spread mixture onto the cut side of hoagies. Toast the buns on a large skillet or griddle on medium heat until golden brown and set aside.

  2. Add 1 Tbsp oil to a skillet and sautee diced onions until caramelized then transfer to a bowl.

  3. Increase to high heat and add 1 Tbsp oil. Spread the steak in an even layer. Let it brown for a couple of minutes then flip and season with salt and pepper. Sautee until steak is fully cooked and then add in caramelized onions.

  4. Divide into 4 even portions and top each with 2 slices of provolone and turn off the heat so the cheese will melt without overcooking the meat.

  5. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the toasted side of each roll. Add 1 portion of the meat onto the bun and serve warm.
